About us

The Rütli-Foundation was created as an umbrella foundation in 2000 by the private bank of Reichmuth & Co, Lucerne. Karl Reichmuth, who founded the eponymous private bank in 1997, was deeply committed to supporting not only private clients but also the common good, and, together with a friend, used his private bank as a source of funds to establish the Rütli-Foundation. Today, Reichmuth & Co continues to be one of the sustaining partners and thus makes a significant contribution towards allowing the Rütli-Foundation and its donors to perform philanthropic activities easily, efficiently and effectively.

The Rütli-Foundation provides legal and organisational services to people who want to get involved in charity work. This means you can achieve your objectives efficiently and cost-effectively, whether by opening a sub-foundation, via returns for charity or by establishing your own foundation. The Rütli-Foundation is a member of proFonds, the umbrella associaton for charitable foundations in Switzerland.

It has no political, religious or ethical affiliations. It is also tax-exempt in Switzerland and is monitored by the Swiss Federal Supervisory Board.
