Submitting a donation request
The Rütli-Foundation is dedicated to promoting humanitarian aid, healthcare, further education and training, scientific teaching and research, culture, art and the preservation of the natural environment.
Donations are always for charitable causes. This means that no single individual can be supported directly.
If you have a charitable project that meets these criteria, we would be delighted to receive a donation request.
Please note that the following documents must be submitted for review:
- Detailed description of the project,
- Budget and financing plan,
- Your organisation’s annual reports for the past two years,
- Description of the support being requested,
- Information from other entities to which a request has been submitted, and information on any contributions already promised,
- We will expect a transparent and professional report once the project is concluded or at the end of the project’s term.
The address for submitting donation requests is:
Rütli-Foundation
Rütligasse 1
6003 Lucerne
gesuche@ruetli-stiftung.ch
Donation requests that are incomplete and do not contain the required documentation cannot be reviewed and will therefore be declined. Mass mailings will not be answered either.
What happens when I send a request to the Rütli-Foundation?
Requests are checked for completeness (see list of documents required) and a potential sub-foundation is sought that might make a donation. Incomplete requests will be automatically declined.
How do I find out which sub-foundation I should address my request to? And how do I find out the purpose of each sub-foundation within the Rütli-Foundation?
The names and purposes of the sub-foundations are known only to the Rütli-Foundation. If a request expresses a purpose in line with the purpose of one or more sub-foundations, it will be passed on to those sub-foundations for consideration and review.
What is not supported?
Only charitable donations are made. This means individuals cannot be beneficiaries.
Which issues are supported under the articles of association?
According to the purpose of the Rütli-Foundation, recipients involved in humanitarian aid, healthcare, further education and training, scientific teaching and research, culture, art and the preservation of the natural environment can be supported. This purpose can be pursued and fulfilled both within Switzerland and abroad, particularly in developing countries.
How long does it take for a decision on a donation to be taken?
Typically, up to three months.
